Glossary
Sometimes we use words and abbreviations as if they were common knowledge. Here are a few terms you might come across in our portion cups collections:
ASTM:
ASTM is the abbreviation for the American Society for Testing and Materials. This organization sets standards for things like compostability and tests products to ensure they meet those standards. Some of our products are tested for two of their standards; ASTM D6400 and ASTM D6868.
PLA:
PLA products are made from a corn starch based resin that goes by the technical name of polylactic acid (PLA). This material is a great alternative to harmful plastic because it is non toxic, petroleum-free, renewable and compostable! Learn More
