  • These 6.5" Compostable CPLA Knives are made from renewable CPLA or modified corn-based plastic materials. Durable, these knives have a sturdy feel and are ideal for high heat applications. They are FDA approved for food contact and can be used to serve up both hot and cold dishes. CPLA cutlery can withstand temperatures up to 185° F (85° C).     What is CPLA:
    CPLA/PLA products are made from polylactic acid (PLA) which is made from corn starch. This material is a great alternative to harmful plastic and does not include petroleum which is found in most plastic products. Non toxic and renewable, this material is a great eco-friendly substitute to plastic.     This product is certified by the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) as biodegradable/compostable. Bagasse biodegrades completely in approximately 30-90 days in a commercial facility depending on the thickness of the product.
