  • These 7.75" Jumbo PLA straws are made from sustainable, fully compostable corn-based plastic. These durable straws are a great eco-friendly alternative to traditional plastic straws and are unwrapped, allowing staff to simply grab straws and prepare beverages with ease. Although PLA straws have the look and feel of plastic, they are made from 100% renewable resources and contain no petroleum. They will fully compost within 6 months in an official commercial composting facility. These straws cannot withstand high temperatures and should not exceed 113 degrees F.     What is PLA:
    PLA products are made from polylactic acid (PLA) which is made from corn starch. This material is a great alternative to harmful plastic and does not include petroleum which is found in most plastic products.     This product is certified by the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) as biodegradable/compostable. Bagasse biodegrades completely in approximately 30-90 days in a commercial facility depending on the thickness of the product.
