These 8.5" Giant PLA straws are made from sustainable, fully compostable corn-based plastic and meet ASTM D6400 and/or D6868 for compostability, and are BPI certified compostable. PLA straws are a great eco-friendly alternative to traditional plastic straws, and are great for customers who don't like the switch to paper straws. Since these straws are paper wrapped they're perfect for takeout orders and drive thrus. Although PLA straws have the look and feel of plastic, they are made from 100% renewable resources and contain no petroleum. They will fully compost within 6 months in an official commercial composting facility. These straws should be used with cold drinks only, since they cannot withstand high temperatures and should not exceed 113°F. The wider size of giant straws makes them great for milkshakes, smoothies, and iced drinks as well as the thinner drinks like juice and water.
